Person Markup schema.org Generator Tool

This tool enables you to easily add Person markup to your text.

To use simply paste you text into the area below.  Highlight the area you want to enclose within a div or span element, then select the relevant element from the drop down list above the text area (don’t worry if the highlighting goes on your text), then click add.  The tool will then wrap that element around the text you have selected. Once complete copy and paste the page into your html.  If you are using WordPress you will have to paste in the “Text” view.

If you use the email and url elements you must copy and paste the email or web address into the placeholder in the html.

Just a note, if you are using the given and family name elements, you have to wrap the whole name in a “name” element otherwise you will get this error: ‘Error: Missing required field “name (fn)”.’ when using Google’s Structured Data testing tool.  For example:

<span itemprop="name">

<span itemprop=”givenName”>Joe</span>

<span itemprop=”familyName”>Bloggs</span>

</span>
